Goodness its February already?!?! There must be some type of cosmic deal that happens when you have kids...time just goes by twice as fast!!! Well we have been some busy Robertson's! We had a trip planned to North Carolina that a winter storm threatened so we decided to leave a day or so early to try and avoid the worst of it. Well we just rode with it the entire way to NC. It was awful. What should have only been two days in the car turned into three. Generally it should take right at about 22 hours to drive from our house in OK to my mothers in NC. I quit counting the hours at 30 during that trip if that can tell you anything. We did finally get there all in one piece and with our sanity. Three days in the truck with a baby and dog should make us Noble Peace Prize nominees!!! LOL So Dan stayed with us the first few days in NC and then flew back to OK for work. Before he left we got to spend some time with a friend who just came home from deployment, Rich and the Cook family! We had a blast with them!!! Liam and I took advantage of having our own transportation and being on the east coast so from NC we headed up to northern VA to see my Dad. We also stopped in and saw my Nanny, Papa Bob and Aunt Gail in Fredricksburg. Liam had a great time with two out of three uncles on this trip. Its so hard to see all of our family since everyone is so spread out and traveling isn't cheap so we just have to make due with what we can do. I was pleased though that Liam and I got so spend some time with people we hadn't seen in a while. My cousin Jessica and her boyfriend even made trip to the beach to come see us and our grandmother. It really means a lot to me that Jessica takes the time to come see us. I know how crazy life can be sometimes. The big purpose of this trip was not only to see some family but also for me to give my friend Melissa her baby shower!!! It was a huge success!!! She got lots of great presents and lots of people made the time to be a special part of her shower. So while I was preparing and hosting the shower Liam managed to become even more spoiled (if that was even possible!) by his Mimi and Boppy (aka my Mom and Daddy-O). Gus also managed to gain a few pounds from my parents spoiling. My dog now believes he is owed something every time I go anywhere near where we keep the treats lol. So of course our visit had to come to an end and it came a day early since once again there was a guaranteed threat of bad winter weather so my Mom rode back with Liam, Gus and I. We booked it back to Tulsa in two days, but had time to stop in Memphis so Mom could see Graceland. As she says...she can die now that shes seen it...LOL! We made the drive in exactly 22 hours. I was pretty happy with that. I love that the highways out in most of AR and OK are 70-75mph speed limits. Helps the traveling go by faster I think....literally. So we made it in the night before the sky fell. We got tons of snow...way too much snow and ice. Just today the roads have been clear enough I didn't feel like I was risking my life to be out on them, but I wouldn't say they are clear enough for like school buses. Liam loves the snow. He is all about being pulled in Daddy's decoy sled and eating the snow. How do you go about teaching a 17 month old not to eat the yellow snow??? LOL. So just as this mess is starting to melt a little bit we have another threat of more fluffy white stuff. We are hearing that Wednesday we are in for 5-8 more inches. Grrrreat?!?!? Summer are you there??? We need you to hurry and come back to Tulsa!!!
