So this week Grandpa Teal was here. He came into town Monday and left Thursday. We really enjoyed his company and not just because he bought Dan and I our early Christmas gift...a flat screen and new entertainment stand. He figured that since he was here it was just better to go ahead and do it now. Thanks Dad! So while Grandpa was here we not only went shopping but we also went to Lake Okmulgee. Grandpa ordered Liam a couple of cane fishing poles a few weeks ago so he could start learning how to fish. So we headed out to the lake to give one of the poles a try and sure enough Grandpa was able to show Liam a thing or two. You could tell both boys were very excited about the little fish they were catching. Liam didn't really know what to make of the fish, but he liked them none the less. We practically had the entire lake to ourselves which was awesome. I kinda wish we had planned to spend the entire day out there instead of just an hour or so. I have the funniest story to tell about while we were at the mall. As we were heading out of the mall we were in an elevator with an older woman. So this woman looked at Liam in his stroller as he was enjoying his bottle and made the comment that he was a big boy and must like to eat. (Thanks lady, are you saying my kid is chunky or something?) She then looks at my Dad and says, "Hes going to be a big boy just like his Daddy." and then exits the elevator. My Dad just says "I like that woman" with the biggest grin ever on his face! By far this is one of the funniest things I have been involved in in a long time. The woman thought my Dad was Liam's Dad...little did she know it was his grandfather! So I'm pretty sure my Dad is still smiling from that one! We had a great time with Grandpa and were sad to see him go. Hopefully it won't be too long before we get to see him again!!!

ReplyDeleteNice Christmas presents! People always love to comment about babies' size. Don't they? (Still hate that!) I'm sure your dad was loving seeming young enough to be Liam's Dad!
