I've said it before on this blog. Cancer SUCKS! I'm saddened to say that my sister-n-law whom I adore and love dearly has colon cancer. In the last few weeks she has been undergoing testing and today she came to the fork in the road. How bad is it and what is the course of action. I'm not going to go into details on here, but she is headed for chemo and radiation for several weeks. There is a good prognosis which is good. I just hate that this is happening to the sweetest person I have ever met by a long shot. Kim would give anyone the shirt off her back if they needed it, she always finds the good in people. She is a giver at all times and never a taker. She lights up my sons eyes like no one else. She is just a wonderful person through and through. It is going to be a rough next few months for my family and even rougher for her. If there is a person more deserving for prayers and a full recovery it is her. So please remember Kim in your prayers these next few months.
To those of you 50 and older who haven't had a colonoscopy done. No excuses, go get it done. It saves lives! My sister-n-law is well under 50 and lives as healthy of a lifestyle as it gets. Cancer doesn't discriminate by age, race, religion or anything else. It can affect anyone and everyone. So be smart and make sure you have your check ups when you should and always listen to your gut instinct.
My heart breaks to hear about Kim! Please keep Phil and me updated about her health. If there is anything we can do- even if it's just listening- know you can count on us. Please know we are thinking of her and your whole family often.
