So here is the beginnings of the nursery. We went with honey oak furniture because we already had the dresser and a well trusted friend had told me natural woods don't show scratches as easily, thank you Jessi! We put the crib and changer together on Easter Sunday. This was a huge mile marker for Dan and I. We didn't fight over who got to do what with the putting together process. Normally we both want to be the lead person which leads to us bickering at one another, but on this rare occasion, we worked together in peace...lol. Hopefully a sign of the future right?!?!? Gus believes that this is his room and he should be aloud to have anything in it. Little does he know, none of it is for him. Poor dog, not at all. Mr. Gus has more toys then he knows what to do with, he is just being his usual spoiled self. He will survive I promise. His favorite thing to steal are the baby quilts Granny Teal made. So enough of Gus and back to the baby's room. The bedding is the Scalloped Pique collection in green from Pottery Barn Kids. I just loved this stuff when I saw it. I wanted something very simple and comforting to the eye. The green is like a minty/lime green. Dan and I are not really huge fans of the baby blue everywhere theme so this was perfect for us. I have begun painting some large frames to go on the walls, but I'm not exactly sure just how I want them. Also Dan and I are starting the process of looking at houses so I don't want to get involved in the nursery decorating if its going to be taken down and put up somewhere else. Dan has a window of 2 1/2 months to find a house and get us into or else he has to wait till after little man arrives. I refuse to be 8 months pregnant and moving in the Tulsa heat of summer.
